A resident of Danbury for the last 40 years, Trible previously worked as a teacher.
The eldest of three children, she was born Feb. 11, 1947, to Mercedes Silvestri and James Ambury. She grew up in Beacon, N.Y., where she attended Catholic schools and St. John's Church. She graduated from Mount St. Mary College in 1969 with a degree in early elementary education.
That same year, she met her husband, Capt. Gary Trible, at Stewart Air Force base in Newburgh, N.Y. They married after a short engagement and moved to Colorado Springs with the U.S. Air Force for three years.
After moving to Danbury, Trible taught nursery school and the fourth grade and worked as a medical secretary. She also spent years as a stay-at-home mother, raising three children.
She volunteered as a religious education teacher for St. Joseph's Church when her children were young and enjoyed attending church every Sunday. She was an avid birder and gardener.
Trible is survived by her husband; a daughter, Karen (Erik Westwig) Trible, of Ithaca, N.Y.; two sons, Timothy Trible, of Sarasota, Fla., and Brian (Mary Jo) Trible, of Key West, Fla.; two brothers, James (Carol) Ambury, of Mahopac, N.Y., and Richard (Mary Jo) Ambury, of Fairfield; three grandchildren; and four nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Tuesday at St. Joseph's Church in Danbury. Green Funeral Home in Danbury handled the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Danbury Hospital, 24 Hospital Ave., Danbury, CT 06810, or Regional Hospice and Home Care of Western Connecticut, 405 Main St., Danbury, CT 06810.
