Palmer was born April 8, 1950, in Long Branch, N.J., to Alvord Palmer, of Palm Harbor, Fla., and Dolores Testa Palmer. She was a resident of Danbury for 47 years.
She was a graduate of Danbury High School and Seton Hill College, and was a reference librarian at WCSU's main library for 29 years. She worked for 23 years as head of the library at Saint Joseph School, Danbury.
Palmer is survived by her husband, John Hoffman, of Danbury; daughter, Julie Palmer-Hoffman, of New Haven; son, Jonathan Palmer-Hoffman, of New York; father, Al Palmer; grandmother, Florence Palmer, both of Palm Harbor, Fla.; brother, Ralph (Dawn) Palmer, of Scituate, R.I.; friends, Rosemary and Harold Hughes, of Danbury; and numerous extended family. She was predeceased by her mother, Dolores.
Calling hours are Thursday, Sept. 4 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 5 at St. Joseph Church, 8 Robinson Ave. at Main St., Danbury. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
