DANBURY, Conn. Lucien Simard of Danbury died unexpectedly on Sept. 6 at Danbury Hospital. He was 81.
Born May 19, 1931 in Eagle Lake, Maine, he was the son of Eddie and Yvonne Dube Simard. He served in the Army during the Korean War. Simard retired as a general foreman from Advance Steel in 1992 after many years.
A resident of Danbury for more than 47 years, he was a member of St. Joseph Church. He also kept a home in Port Richey, Fla., and was an avid shuffle board enthusiast. He was married to Jean Perreault Simard, who survives him.
He is also survived by a son, Kevin (Kathy) Simard, of Littleton, Colo.; a daughter, Tammy (Thomas) Kenny, of Danbury; four siblings, Norman Simard, of Bristol, Conn,, Fernand Simard, of Eagle Lake, Kerry Simard, of Pennsylvania, and Rolande Blanchette, of Danbury; and two grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Harry Simard, and a sister, Fern Palmer.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Tuesday at St. Joseph Church in Danbury. Green Funeral Home handled arrangements.
