DANBURY, Conn. Lois E. Wixted of Danbury died Sept. 14. She was 81.
A lifelong Danbury resident, Wixted was born Aug. 17, 1931. She graduated from St. Peter School, Danbury High School and business school. She worked in the business office of John McLean Department Store for many years.
When the store closed, Wixted went to work at Western Connecticut State University. She retired as a confidential executive assistant for the personnel department after 24 years of service. Her family was always of utmost importance to her.
She is survived by a daughter, Diane (Jim); and extended family. She was predeceased by a son, Jay.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Peter Church in Danbury. A graveside service will immediately follow. There are no calling hours. Green Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charitable organization.
