Joseph John Martin, 65, Longtime Danbury Resident

BROOKFIELD, Conn. -  Joseph John Martin of Brookfield died Tuesday, Sept. 3. He was 65.

Martin was born Sept. 29, 1947, in Yonkers, N.Y., son of Joseph and Marsha (Lamberto) Martin. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in Yonkers. After high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp and served in Vietnam where he was awarded the Purple Heart. He was employed as a carpenter at Danbury Hospital for 22 years. He had been a resident of the Danbury area for the past 35 years. He was a member of the Connecticut Cruise News Minuteman Riders and an original member of the Exit 3 Motorcycle Organization.

Martin is survived by his wife, Susan (Baker) Martin of Brookfield; mother, Marsha Martin of Yonkers; brother, Gary (Maria); sister, Marybeth of the Bronx; and numerous nieces and nephews in Yonkers; and extended family. He was predeceased by his father, Joseph John Martin; and brother, Warren Martin, both of Yonkers, N.Y.

A Celebration of Martin’s life will take place Sunday, Oct. 6  from 2 and 4 p.m. in the Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah St., Ridgefield.
