DANBURY, Conn. - John Louis deForest of Danbury died Sept. 12. He was 64.
deForest was born Oct. 12, 1948, in Paris. He immigrated to New York with his father at the age of seven. He attended DeWitt Clinton High School of the Bronx and graduated from Lehman College of New York City with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. He worked as an information technology manager for Verizon for 30 years before retiring in 2005. He volunteered his service to the Red Cross, Children International, and Reading for the Blind.
deForest is survived by his daughters, Suzette Sozio and Yvette deForest; brother, Peter deForest; life partner, Janine Wesselmann. He was predeceased by his wife, Julia.
Funeral services will take place Monday, Sept. 16 at 11 a.m. in the Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah St., Ridgefield. Burial will take place in Kensico Cemetery, Valhalla.
