Jeffrey S. Simpson, 51, Of Danbury, Financial Consultant

DANBURY, Conn. - Jeffrey S. Simpson of Danbury died Sunday, Oct. 27. He was 51.

Simpson was born Feb. 20, 1962, in Detroit, Mich, son of John E. Simpson of Ridgefield and Sharon (Haskin) Simpson. He moved to Ridgefield with his family in 1968 from Minnesota, attended Ridgefield schools, graduating in the Ridgefield High School class of 1980 and later received a Bachelor of Science degree from Teiyko Post University. A financial consultant, he was formerly associated with The Equitable Insurance Company and A.G. Edwards and at the time of his death was employed with Raymond James of Wilton.

Simpson played in the Ridgefield Men’s summer and fall Softball Leagues and organized and played basketball at the Wilton YMCA. A member and volunteer with Friends of Bill, he also volunteered at Hudson Country Montessori School and was an American Red Cross blood donor. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Church, Ridgefield.

In addition to his wife, Lisa (Broussard) Simpson; father, John; step-mother, Sandra Simpson of Ridgefield; sons, Ross Simpson and Jackson Simpson; daughter, Shelby Simpson all of Danbury; brothers, Mark A. Simpson of Danbury and John G. Simpson (Jennifer) of Redding; step-brothers, Jeff Cowser (Mei) of Shelton and Kevin Cowser (Stephanie) of New Canaan; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother, Sharon.

Calling hours are Wednesday, Oct.30 from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah St., Ridgefield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, Oct. 31 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Elizabeth Seton Church, 520 Ridgebury Road, Ridgefield. Interment will take place at the direction of the family.
