A lifelong Danbury resident, Haddad was born Feb. 24, 1933, to George and Julia Nassar Nimer. She attended Danbury High School, but was unable to graduate because she had to help provide for her family.
Haddad went on to own several businesses in Danbury. In 1972, she established T&J Realty, a real estate firm with 18 salespeople. She continued to be involved with several real estate and development companies until her death.
In the 1980s and ’90s, she also owned Mr. Nibbs Chicken N Ribs and Wedgies Restaurant, formerly of Danbury. She married Theodore Haddad Sr. at St. Peter's Church in Danbury on Nov. 26, 1955.
She enjoyed caring for her family, giving advice and cooking "for an army," her family said. A New York Yankees fan, Haddad took trips to Atlantic City, N.J., with her husband and vacationed at the Jersey Shore the past 45 summers.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, are two sons, Theodore Haddad Jr. and Dennis (Christine) Haddad; a daughter, Pam (Shawn) O'Brien; two sisters, Madeline Jowdy, of Danbury, and Yvonne LeFebvre, of Florida; a brother, Fred Nimer, of Ohio; five grandchildren; a sister-in-law; two daughters-in-law, Tracy Haddad, of Bethel, and Meg Riefberg, of Danbury; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by a sister, Helen (George) Jowdy; three brothers, George (Ann) Nimer Jr., James (Rita) Nimer and Samuel Nimer; a sister-in-law; a brother-in-law; and her niece and best friend, Carol Ann Basher.
The liturgy of resurrection will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Anthony Maronite Church in Danbury. Burial will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery. Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
