Evelyn Ann Tomanio, 84, Of Danbury, Retired Nurse’s Assistant, Hancock Hall

DANBURY, Conn. - Evelyn Ann (Kowalski) Tomanio  of Danbury died Thursday, Oct. 10. She was 84.

Tomanio was born Sept. 16, 1929, in Danbury, daughter of Casmir and Josephine (Janus) Kowalski. She attended the Hairdressing School of Bridgeport and worked as a beautician at Sarah's Beauty Salon in Bethel. Upon retirement, she worked for several years at Hancock Hall as a nurse's assistant.

Tomanio is survived by her husband, Eugene; son, Mark Allen Tomanio of Danbury; daughters, Lynn Ann Meeker and Cynthia Jean Zane both of Danbury, and Bonnie Louise Piche (Robert) of Naperville, Ill; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; brother, Edward Kowalski (Irene) of Manchester; sister, Stephanie Jedzinak of Jackson, N.J.; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents. There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 12 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. Cremation will be at the direction of the family.
