Evelyn A. Chory, 84, Lifelong Danbury Resident

DANBURY, Conn. - Evelyn A. Chory of Danbury died Tuesday, Oct. 15. She was 84.

Chory was born March 21, 1929, in Danbury, daughter of Antous M. and Florence (Shaker) Antous. She attended Danbury schools and graduated from Danbury High School in the Class of 1947.

A homemaker, she was employed in years past as a retail sales clerk with Howland Department Store and J.C. Penny. She was also employed at the Risdon Corp. A lifelong Danbury resident, she was a member of the Ma-Asser Society, Lebanon American Club Auxiliary, St. Anthony Maronite Catholic Church and its Ladies Guild.

Chory is survived by a daughter, Toni A. Glynn (James Glynn Jr.) of Danbury; sons, Anthony G. Chory (Loretta) of Trumbull and Mark S. Chory (Jean) of Danbury; brothers, Richard Antous (Mary), Ronald Antous (Joan) and Raymond Antous (Najla), all of Danbury; sister, Marion Shaker; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; many cousins; nieces, nephews; and grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by her parents; and husband, Anton G. Chory.

Calling hours are Friday, Oct. 18, from 4 to 8 p.m. at St. Anthony Church. The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, Oct. 19, at 10 a.m. in St. Anthony Maronite Church, 17 Granville Ave., Danbury, with Monsignor David George officiating. Interment will take place in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury.
