Dorothy I. Drumm, 88, Lifelong Danbury Resident, WWII Navy Veteran

DANBURY, Conn. - Dorothy I. Drumm of Danbury died Saturday, July 13. She was 88.

Drumm was born in Patterson, N.Y., daughter of Ernest M. and Clara Bleh Leach. A lifelong Danbury area resident, she was a 1943 graduate of Danbury High School. She joined the U.S. Navy in 1945 and served during World War II as a seaman first class receiving the Victory Medal. She was a member of St. Joseph Church in Danbury.

Drumm is survived by her daughter, Nancy Drumm of Watertown; sons, Fred, Jr. of Danbury, Robert (Maureen) of Alpharetta, Ga., and Paul of Danbury; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Fred G. Drumm, Sr.; and brother, Robert Leach.

Calling hours are Wednesday, July 17  from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 18, at St. Joseph Church, Danbury. Interment with military honors will be in Wooster Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
