Danbury's Edith Rose Palanzo, 96, Retired Inspector At Davis And Geck

DANBURY, Conn. - Edith Rose Palanzo of Danbury died Tuesday, Oct. 15. She was 96.

Palanzo was born Feb. 3, 1917, in Danbury, daughter of Oreste M. and Mary R. (Caprio) Clerici. She was a graduate of local schools and had been employed as an inspector with the Davis and Geck division of American Cyanamid Co. for more than 25 years until her retirement.

She was a lifelong parishioner of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, Danbury. She was a member and former officer of the Catholic War Veterans Post No. 1042 Ladies Auxiliary, as well as a member of the Danbury Emblem Club No. 48.

Palanzo is survived by her daughter, Sandra M. Palanzo (Raymond Flowers); son, Richard M. Palanzo (Karyn); a granddaughter; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Michael Angelo Palanzo; and sisters, Evelyn Caprio and Mary "Mamie" Palanzo.

Calling hours are Friday, Oct. 18, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, at St. Peter Church, Danbury. Burial will be in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury.
