DANBURY, Conn. - Anna A. (Mead) Machado of Danbury died Tuesday, Sept. 10. She was 83.
Machado was born in Ridgefield, daughter of Harold and Anna (Ferguson) Mead. She grew up in Ridgefield and attended Ridgefield schools. She worked as a nurse’s aide for many years at Danbury Hospital, prior to her retirement in 1994. She was a member of the AARP Chapter 3340.
Machado is survived by her children, Linda Coutts of Danbury, Dennis Machado, Jr. (Karen) of Mississippi, Manny Machado (Sally) of South Caroline and Alan Machado (Karen) of New Milford; sister, Shirley Mead (Alex) Frulla of Ridgefield; 10 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and a godchild. She was predeceased by her parents; and husband, Dennis R. Machado, Sr.
Calling hours are Sunday, Sept. 15 from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 16 at St. Joseph Church, Danbury. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery.
