Sponsored by the university and the League of Women Voters of Greater Danbury, the forum will also feature Thomas Maziarz, chief of the Department of Transportation Bureau of Policy and Planning, and Oz Griebel, a member of the Governor’s Transportation Finance panel.
The state legislature this year approved a $2.8 billion bonding package to improve Connecticut's transportation, the first part of Governor Dannel Malloy’s 10-year transportation plan to transform the state’s highways and rail system.
Democratic Senate Majority Leader Bob Duff of Norwalk and Darien, and Republican Sen. Toni Boucher, who represents parts of Bethel, New Canaan, Redding, Ridgefield, Weston, Westport and Wilton, will discuss legislative perspectives on the plan.
The forum will give residents an opportunity to ask questions of government officials and political leaders on the crucial topic.
The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan political organization dedicated to citizens’ informed and active participation in government, increased understanding of major governmental issues and influence upon public policy through education and advocacy.
