“I live on Golden Hill Road and with all the high school kids, we really need sidewalks,” Ora LaMedeleine wrote on Facebook.

Golden Hill Road is a short distance from Danbury High School and is filled with students most afternoons after school gets out, yet doesn’t have a completed sidewalk along the entire road. The high school is located on Clapboard Ridge Road, which was also singled out as needing sidewalks. It sees heavy pedestrian traffic before and after school.

Clapboard Ridge Road is also home to several houses of worship, including Immanuel Lutheran Church, Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, Church of Christ Danbury and Congregation B’Nai Israel. In addition to being dangerous for pedestrians, Clapboard Ridge Road was also the scene of a serious car accident earlier this week.

Another street that drew concerns from readers was Stadley Rough Road, where Stadley Rough Elementary School and Great Plain Elementary School are located.

We want to hear from you. Do agree these roads need sidewalks? Are there any other streets that are unsafe for pedestrians? Share your opinions in the comment section below or on The Danbury Daily Voice Facebook page.
