- Danbury-based Praxair Inc., a global leader in industrial gases and applications, has renewed its commitment to the city by announcing plans to build a new world headquarters in the city.
- Deputy House Speaker Bob Godfrey was re-elected by Danbury voters who also approved a $20 million bond package for public projects.
- Elizabeth Esty won re-election against Republican challenger Mark Greenberg to represent the 5th District in Congress, which includes Danbury.
- Multiple accidents, one at Route 35 in Katonah Exit 6), another near the intersection of the Hutchinson River Park and at the intersection of Doansburg Road and Powers Lane was reported on southbound I-684.
Gov. Dannel P. Malloy was re-elected over his Republican opponent Tom Foley.
