DANBURY, Conn. – Mayor Mark D. Boughton and the City of Danbury have launched the #DiscoverDanbury campaign with a new community engagement website, at www.DiscoverDanbury.LIVE.
Local residents, businesses, and organizations can submit event information on the site for free, offering organizers a new outlet for promoting events and a free link to share details of their events.
The city said it hopes to help residents find out about local services and help businesses further increase their community outreach. The goal is to have a go-to place for all things Danbury — where residents can explore new places, learn about new businesses and find out about everything happening around town.
“One of the primary purposes of my job as mayor is to help all of our residents stay active and engaged in our community. DiscoverDanbury.live is an out-of-the-box initiative that accomplishes this in the current technical age,” said Boughton.
“The #DiscoverDanbury campaign will give residents an all-encompassing source to locate local resources and recreational opportunities that are available all throughout the city, including our growing downtown, and it will provide businesses the means necessary to communicate with a wide consumer-base here in Danbury.”
The site includes an interactive map with a "place of interest" directory. Businesses can submit their information to be listed on the map for free, or they can buy an annual premium listing that will give businesses more real estate on the map and their own webpage off of the map that they can share with customers.
Businesses and event coordinators can create a free CivicLift profile through www.discoverdanbury.live and enter business and event information at any time.
