DANBURY, Conn. — Shoppers were out in force — some at the crack of dawn and more well before sunrise — in search of great deals at area stores for the phenomenon that has become Black Friday.

Deals of all kinds were to be found at most stores, and many exited stores toward parking lots with carts overflowing with Christmas gifts.

The Danbury Fair Mall proved to once again be a popular spot for shoppers from across Fairfield County as well as those from Westchester, Putnam and Dutchess as the Christmas shopping season began.
