City Of Danbury To Pick Up Discarded Christmas Trees

DANBURY, Conn. -- The Highway Department will begin picking up discarded Christmas trees on Monday, Jan. 4, 2016.

Pick-up will continue until Friday, Jan. 29, weather permitting.

Residents must place their trees curbside for pick-up. All items, including decorations, tinsel, lights and tree stands, must be removed from the trees.

Artificial trees will not be included in the pick-up service.

There is no set schedule for the free program. The city is encouraging residents to place their trees curbside as close to Jan. 4 as possible, to ensure they are picked up.
