But there is one new millionaire somewhere in the Nutmeg State after the winning numbers were drawn.
The lone winning ticket in the second-largest Powerball jackpot in history was sold in Chicopee, Mass.
The winning numbers are: 6 7 16 23 26 and the Powerball is 4.
In Connecticut, one ticket worth $2 million was sold. It matched five numbers, not including the Powerball. It is worth $2 million because the buyer selected the Power Play.
Three tickets sold in Connecticut are worth $200,000 and five are worth $50,000 after the winners matched four numbers and the Powerball. The $200,000 winners had Power Play.
In all, there were 128,728 winners in Connecticut:
- 89 tickets matched four numbers to win $100; 31 with the Power Play option won $400.
- 199 tickets matched three numbers, plus Powerball, for $100; 96 with the Power Play option won $400.
- 5,155 tickets matched three numbers to win $7; 2,016 with the Power Play option won $28.
- 3,962 tickets matched two numbers, plus Powerball, worth $7; 1,523 with the Power Play option won $28.
- 25,730 tickets matched one number, plus Powerball, for $4; 9,883 with the Power Play option won $16.
- 58,299 tickets matched the Powerball number to win $4; 21,735 with the Power Play option won $16.
The next Powerball drawing is Saturday. The jackpot prize is $40 million — which is still nothing to sneeze at.
