Danbury Animal Control began looking for Neekah's owner last week after she was found wandering on Shelter Rock Road in Danbury and dropped off at the pound in Bethel. She was wearing a collar and microchipped to a family in Cromwell. After searching they were able to track down a previous owner, who said she had been taken to a rescue shelter after his wife's death, and afterwards she had been adopted by a Bethel resident.
Animal control were finally able to track the owner. They said Neekah is now officially up for adoption.
Neekah is described as very sweet and energetic. She is spayed, gets along great with people, and other dogs don't seem to bother her, though her feelings towards cats are still unknown.
Danbury Animal Control is taking applications for her adoption. Stop by the pound at 23 Plumtrees Road, across from Ferris Mulch, or call (203) 748-6456 for more information.
