Danbury's Regional Hospice And Home Care Seeks Volunteers

DANBURY, Conn. – Regional Hospice and Home Care in Danbury is looking for new volunteers and will host training sessions throughout June.

The nonprofit organization especially needs family support volunteers, according to a press release.

Interview, references, background checks and completion of the agency’s training are required steps.

“We are looking for compassionate, caring people who are interested in helping families who have a loved one receiving end-of-life care,” Mary Beth Hickey, volunteer manager, said in a press release.

“The schedule for volunteers is very flexible,” said Hickey. “It can be a few hours or a few days each week, depending on the volunteer’s availability.”

Training will be from 6-9 p.m. Monday, June 8; Tuesday, June 9; Wednesday, June 10; Thursday, June 11; Monday, June 15; Tuesday, June 16; Wednesday, June 17; and Thursday, June 18.
