Danbury Rings In 2014 With First Night Celebration

DANBURY, Conn. -- CityCenter Danbury will ring in the New Year with its 24th annual family-friendly First Night celebration from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 31.

The headline act of First Night will be ventriloquist Kenny Warren, who will perform at the Palace Danbury. 

Warren and his sidekick, Leroy Cool, have opened for national comedic acts such as Jerry Seinfeld, Richard Pryor and Rodney Dangerfield. 

More than 30 acts and activities, including music, variety acts, magic shows arts and crafts, ice sculpting and more, will keep residents of all ages entertained for the four-hour celebration in downtown Danbury. 

Other cats include: Teen rock band Marmalade Sky, two DJ’s, Dave Wonsey’s Drum Circle, the Easton Banjo Society and the New Hope Mass Choir.

Admission buttons for First Night are $10 each. They are available for purchase at the CityCenter offices, located at 186 Main St. during office hours and Saturday, Dec. 28, from noon to 3 p.m.

Buttons can also be purchased at Union Savings Bank locations in Danbury, Bethel, Brookfield and New Fairfield; Savings Bank of Danbury locations in Danbury, Bethel, Brookfield, Newtown, New Fairfield, and New Milford; The Patriot Parking Garage in Danbury; The Danbury Library; The Danbury Museum & Historical Society; Appearances Hair Salon, New Milford and The Sweet Spot in New Milford.

First Night is an alcohol-free, family oriented event.
