“Organizing ‘Our Town’ has been beautiful on so many levels,” said Caitlin Martin, the Sandy Hook graduate who organized the event. “It is allowing me to connect with classmates I haven’t spoken to in years. It is also providing a venue for people to express themselves and take part in a cause they believe in.

"Newtown harbors many of my wonderful childhood memories, and I’m proud to pay it forward and provide an opportunity for fellow Newtowners to express themselves.”

Event organizers said they hope to raise $10,000 to help the Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps fund a new ambulance garage and begin to heal the trauma first responders experienced Dec. 14. Martin, who will perform under her stage name, Jass Bianchi, will have help from Asbestos Records’ music coordinator Pam Janutolo, former SoNo Arts Celebration President Mark Minnok, and more than 20 other volunteers, according to the event’s website.

A CD and DVD of the event will be made by Mark Boisevert of MEB Cinema and be available for purchase at ourtownconcert.com.

In addition to the several live music acts, the 26 artists will display 26 pieces of art to honor the victims of Sandy Hook.

The event will be held from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. at Eclipse Cafe, located at 40 Elm St. in Danbury. Tickets start at $15, but larger donations are encouraged, including sponsor tickets for $250 and $500. For more information, visit the event website
