A newly compiled list by Connecticut Magazine has ranked two Fairfield County eateries for their superior seafood selections.
- Lucas Local: Lucas Local Oyster Bar in Newtown features a huge variety of some of the freshest fare in the area. Located at 48 S. Main Street, Lucas Local is consistently rolling out new seasonal options as well. Don’t forget to check out happy hours Tuesday through Friday and Sunday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. — customers can take their pick from $1.25 oysters, $8 cocktails and $5 wine and local drafts. - The Whelk: Located at 575 Riverside Avenue in Westport, The Whelk offers a generous variety of high-end seafood options that have been freshly caught and prepared. The Whelk also provides some rather eccentric options, including whole riddled octopus, BBQ clams, smoked trout dip and more. There’s even a full raw oyster bar with more than 10 varieties.
