DANBURY, Conn. -- No burger or sandwich is complete without an order of fries. Whether you like them shoestring skinny, crispy and crinkled or golden brown and fried to perfection, they remain one of America's favorite sides.
DVlicious Ask: Who Has Fairfield County's Best Fries?
- Barnum Publick House, Bridgeport
- Burgers, Shakes & Fries, Greenwich. Darien
- JK's Restaurant, Danbury
- Sycamore Drive-In, Bethel
- Super Duper Weenie, Fairfield
You've chosen five finalists as the DVlicious best in Fairfield County; now it's time to vote. First, though, grab some ketchup and pour over the following. Just don't blame us if you get hungry!
JK’s Restaurant, 126 South St., Danbury, (203) 743-4004
Fry Type: Thin. Curly.
What Makes Them So Addictive: Family run since its founding in 1924, the hometown hangout is known for its “original Texas hot weiners,” which are split, grilled and slathered with a secret “sauce.” (And don’t you dare call them hot dogs.) But its regulars also love their fries and onion rings. The curly fry "special" comes in a skillet with Monterey Jack cheese and bacon bits.
A reminder: Voting ends Tuesday, May 31 at 5 p.m. You can vote multiple times, albeit once per day.
