Danbury Restaurant Earns 'Best Of Connecticut' Honor

DANBURY, Conn. – Danbury’s Ondine Restaurant made Connecticut Magazine’s annual list of the best restaurants in the state. Ondine was named one of the five best French restaurants in Connecticut by a panel of experts.

The group of 89 experts included reviewers, food writers and editors, cookbook authors, bloggers and other people knowledgeable about Connecticut restaurants, according to the Connecticut Magazine website. The list rates restaurants in 26 different categories.

This is the 15th year Ondine has made the annual list in the Best French category, according to the restaurant’s website. Ondine is located on Pembroke Road, overlooking Margerie Lake Reservoir, and was opened in 1985. The restaurant offers dinner Wednesday through Saturday, with a special family afternoon dinner on Sundays, according to the website. Appetizers range from $9 to $39, entrees range from $24 to $42, and a five-course tasting dinner is available for $62.

Ondine is closed Monday and Tuesday, and open 5:30 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and noon to 7 p.m. Sunday. For more information call 203-746-4900 or visit the eatery online.
