DANBURY, Conn. -- Saturday dawned with frigid temperatures below zero in Danbury. As the day warmed up into the teens and 20s, snow began to fly.

The carousel and children's play area offered a respite for parents and kids alike. Snow, meanwhile, piled up across the parking lot and the landscape.
A total of 2 to 5 inches of snow had fallen across Fairfield County by Saturday, with more snow and freezing rain expected overnight.
