The incident occurred in Danbury around 8:15 p.m., Wednesday, April 3 in the area of 9A Clapboard Ridge Road.
When officers arrived, they found the man in the roadway with serious injuries, said Erin Henry, spokesperson for the Danbury Police Department.
The victim has not yet been identified by police.
Henry said the vehicle fled from the area before police arrived and has not been identified.
The man was transported to the Danbury Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
Clapboard Ridge Road was closed for several hours while the initial investigation was completed by the Danbury Police Accident Investigation Team.
