Scottish Folk Group Brings Lively, Toe-Tapping Music To Danbury

DANBURY, Conn. - One of Scotland's most popular folk bands will entertain Celtic music lovers with a free concert at the Danbury Library on Thursday, June 5, from 6 to 7 p.m.

Band members Ronnie MacDonald, Grant Simpson and Dave Gilfillan will provide a highly entertaining show with toe-tapping music using a variety of instruments: guitars, mandolin, fiddle, bouzouki, bodhran, whistles and banjo, along with their melodious three-part harmonies.

North Sea Gas was formed over 30 years ago and continues to travel the world, bringing its brand of Scottish traditional, contemporary and self-penned music to those who enjoy great music. With Gold and Silver disc awards from the Scottish Music Industry Association, it consistently sells out shows at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in Scotland. Its music has universal appeal and enjoyed by all ages.

The concert is sponsored by the Friends of the Danbury Library. CDs will be available for purchase following the show. Register online at danburylibrary.org, click on “Events” or call 203-797-4527.
