DANBURY, Conn. -- Car enthusiasts and dog lovers alike will find something to love this Saturday at the "Puppies & Porsches" event in Danbury, which will raise money for Guiding Eyes for the Blind.

Guiding Eyes for the Blind is a nonprofit organization that provides trained guide dogs to people who are blind or visually impaired. The organization has teamed up with the National Championship Winners of the Porsche Club of America at Speedsport Tuning to host this special fundraising event.

Explore the impressive collection of racecars at Speedsport Tuning while socializing aspiring guide dog puppies as they mingle among guests at the early stages of their training. A fully trained Guiding Eyes Dog costs as much as a Porsche, but are given at no cost to people with vision loss.

Guiding Eyes CEO & President Thomas Panek, and his wife Melissa said of the event: “We are thrilled to join the team at Speedsport Tuning to bring together two of our life’s greatest passions –a winning team of exceptional cars and exceptional dogs."

Thomas said, “When I lost my vision, I did not lose my love of going fast, and with Melissa as the high-speed driver on the racetrack and my guide dog Gus on the paddock, I have the best of both the sighted and blind worlds.”

“We're especially excited to take the beautiful cars for a scenic drive to our HQ in Yorktown Heights in time for our graduation ceremony, so guests can experience the incredible bond between our guide dogs and their new owners firsthand.”

In addition to the Porsches and puppies on hand, guests will hear from Larry Kosilla, founder of Ammo NYC, who will be onsite providing detailing demos for maintenance of luxury automobiles.

"Puppies & Porsches" will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday at Speedsport Tuning, 52 Miry Brook Road in Danbury.
