The fair, which ran for the first week of October from 1869 until 1981, is coming back to The Palace Danbury for one night. The show starts at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at The Palace Danbury. Show creator Billy Michael will perform with his "Cavalcade of Stars," and the show is set to "enchant and delight the audience just as the state fair did for 113 years," according to the release.
“We are going to weave fair history and music into a night that you won’t forget,” said Michael in the release.
The show promises to feature the J&B band, Paul Baker, the voice of the Fair’s Raceareana; Dave King, composer of The Danbury Fair song (which can be seen in the video above); Anthony Nazzaro; Jack Stetson; past Fair Queens; tap dancers; hula hoopers; baton twirlers and other guests, according to the release.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to sign the petition to put The Great Danbury Fair on a U.S. Postal Service stamp, according to the release.
General admission tickets are $20 and may be purchased online at The Palace Danbury website or by phone at 203-794-9944.
The Palace Danbury is located at 165 Main St. in Danbury.
