The event, "Green Light, Go!," will take place on the Midtown Quad at Western Connecticut State University, 181 White St., Danbury, on Oct. 15 at 1 p.m.

This event is free and open to the public.

Green Light, Go! was pioneered by Jewish Women International, a nonprofit that promotes Sexual Assault Prevention across various campuses around the nation.

While the event is intended to be fun, it also provides a great opportunity for speakers, survivors and advocates to shed light on the importance of consent and its power to prevent sexual assault.

It also exposes participants to the different resources available on campus and in the Greater Danbury area.

In addition to food, live music and activities put on by various student groups, various Western Connecticut and Danbury resources will have information tables.

Western's CaRT (Campus Resource Team) and the Counseling Center at Western Connecticut are partners to bring this initiative to the Danbury community.

ZBT is partnering with two nonprofits: nationally the Jewish Women International, and locally the Women's Center of Greater Danbury.

Donors can choose between supporting JWI and a ZBT fund that supports safe and healthy relationships.
