The gates will open at the Ives Concert Park at 6 p.m. for the 7:30 p.m. show called “A Prairie Home Companion Radio Romance Tour 2013.”

Keillor, 70, is the bestselling author and modern-day Mark Twain whose weekly radio show, "A Prairie Home Companion," is heard by more than 4 million listeners each week on 590 public radio stations, and abroad on America One and the Armed Forces Networks in Europe and the Far East.

“When the show started, it was something funny to do with my friends, and then it became an achievement that I hoped would be successful, and now it’s a good way of life,” he said.

The show, usually done from its home theater The Fitzgerald in St. Paul, Minn., has been produced since 1974, with a brief break from 1987 to 1989. It is down for its down-home charm, folk singing and, of course, Guy Noir as well as the weekly news from Lake Wobegon.

Tickets are $80 and $55 for reserved seats and $30 for lawn. They are available at the box office on the day of show. Payment must be in cash; no credit cards are accepted at the box office.
