DANBURY, Conn. – Wooster School presents “An Evening with Javon Jackson,” on Friday, Feb. 5 at 8 p.m.
The evening concert will be precluded by a day visit to work with young musicians.
“An Evening with Javon Jackson” is free and open to the entire music community.
The Javon Jackson Band incorporates jazz, funk, R&B and rock. Javon Jackson came into international prominence as a member of Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers and is now on over 135 recordings with many artists.
Recently commissioned by the Syracuse International Film Festival, he composed a full length score for the Alfred Hitchcock film, “The Lodger.”
"Lucky 13," his latest recording, reintroduces acoustic jazz after a series of popular jazz-funk recordings.
The show in the Reception Center of the school and doors open at 7:30 p.m.
