The sixth annual event runs from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23, at the Danbury Sports Dome at 25 Shelter Rock Lane in Danbury. The Danbury Sports Dome has teamed with the Danbury Westerners to hold the event, which features chili tasting, soccer, magic, music and children's activities.
There will be face painting and music performances by Dave King, Standby and the Mad Hatters Barbershop Chorus. The Danbury High School cheerleaders also will perform. More than 20 vendors will be on hand, selling everything from jewelry to maple syrup.
To enter a team for the Chili Winter Warm up Contest, or to enter the Big "Chili" 5K race, residents can visit the Danbury Sports Dome website. Those looking for more information to sponsor or place an advertisement in the program are asked to contact info@danburysportsdome.com.
The Danbury Westerners are an all-volunteer, nonprofit group with the mission to "provide MLB-supported summer baseball entertainment in the Greater Danbury CT and NY area to enhance social and economic development and add value to the quality of summer living and vacationing throughout the region," representatives said.
