Employees of the Savings Bank of Danbury stashed at least 50 blue envelopes that say "open me" around the area, filled with $50 in cash hoping to give residents a little holiday spirit, and maybe even encourage them to pay it forward, NBC reported.
The envelopes are hidden inside stores, on the streets, or maybe even in a tree — but not in the bank, said NBC Connecticut.
If you are one of the lucky ones who find an envelope, share your story by Dec. 31 on the bank's Facebook page, and you’ll be entered into a drawing to have $250 donated to the charity of your choice, NBC said.
