Brookfield's Stony Hill Road To Close Saturday

BROOKFIELD, Conn -- Stony Hill Road will be temporarily closed Saturday while crews place heavy equipment needed for "critical maintenance work" on the overhead Eversource power line tower near the railroad bridge, according to the Brookfield Police Department.

Brookfield police are urging drivers who must travel near Stony Hill Road on Saturday to use a detour to accommodate a temporary road closure.

In a statement on the department's Facebook page, police said the closure is expected to last between 7 a.m. - 1 p.m. Saturday.

Because Stony Hill Road will be impassable, people living on Secor and West Whisconier roads will have to remain on their respective sides of the bridge in order to access their homes, according to police.

Drivers are urged to avoid the area if possible. For those who must pass by, a detour route (seen above) has been provided.
