Police arrested some 45 protesting the war in Gaza at Yale University after refusing to leave the campus. The incident occurred around 6:30 a.m., Monday, April 22, in Beinecke Plaza at Yale University in New Haven. According to Officer Christian Bruckhart of the New Haven Police, officers responded to assist the Yale Police Department regarding a protest in the Beinecke Plaza area. A former Yale University School of Medicine employee who stole $40 million in computer and electronic hardware from the university has been sentenced. Jamie Petrone, age 43, a former resident of Naugatuck, was sentenced on Thursday, Oct. 13, to nine years in prison followed by three years of supervised release for wire fraud and filing a false tax return, according to Vanessa Roberts Avery, United States attorney for the District of Connecticut. Man Accused Of Calling In Bomb Threat To Yale New Haven Hospital
A man who police say threatened to bomb the Yale New Haven Hospital has been arrested. Alexander Bradley, age 42, of Cranston, Rhode Island, was taken into custody Thursday, April 28, on federal charges of conveying false information about explosives, according to the US Attorney’s Office. It came nearly a year after he allegedly called the hospital and told an employee he had placed a pressure cooker containing a bomb outside of the building, prosecutors said. Law enforcement officials in Connecticut are continuing their search for a missing Yale employee who hasn't been seen in more than three weeks. Connecticut State Police are investigating an officer-involved shooting of two people by police officers from the Hamden and Yale police departments.
