Suspect On Loose After Shooting In Danbury The Danbury Police Department is currently investigating a shooting which took place in the area of Ellsworth and Hospital Avenues  Thursday afternoon, Jan. 17. Police said there is one victim being treated at the Danbury Hospital for a gunshot wound to the arm.  The shooter was last seen in the area of Wooster Cemetery.  Reports indicate that he was on foot in the area and he is described as a young adult wearing a blue dew rag and a black NorthFace backpack.  Two schools in the area, Ellsworth Avenue and WCSU, have been asked to implement security measures.  Th…

Danbury Native Richard 'Beetle' Bailey, Beloved FD Chaplain, Dies Richard J. Bailey, Sr., the longtime chaplain of the Brewster Fire Department, died Sunday, June 3, at home. Bailey, 87, of Dover Plains, also worked for years as a tree surgeon at Coffin Tree Service in Tarrytown. Born on February 18, 1931, in Danbury, he was the son of the late Myron A. and Blanche Bailey. He was married to Cynthia L.
