Man Found Dead In Fairfield County After Police Discover Submerged Vehicle
A local man was found dead in the Aspetuck River after police were notified of a submerged vehicle in Fairfield County. The incident occurred in the town of Fairfield around 12:40 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 22. According to Fairfield Police Sgt. Michael Stahl, the Weston Police Department notified the department of a vehicle submerged in the Aspetuck River, directly behind Aspetuck Falls in Fairfield. Vulgar Graffiti Discovered On Road In Weston
A Fairfield County road was defaced by taggers with inappropriate graffiti, police said. Dozens of drawings of male genitals were spray painted on both sides of Cannondale Road, prompting a police investigation into the vandalism. According to reports, neighbors along Cannondale Road were hopeful that the graffiti may lead to the DPW paving and smoothing out the roadway, which was already scheduled to be repaved over the course of the summer. Student Threatened To 'Shoot Up' Middle School In Weston, School Officials Say
Police were called in to investigate a threat made by a student to “shoot up” the middle school in Weston. “One student turned to a trusted adult to report these comments and that adult passed the information on to the middle school administration. We immediately called the Weston Police Department,” Weston Middle School principal Daniel Doak wrote in a letter to parents. Westport Police Department Welcomes New Officers, Promotes Detective
The Westport Police Department welcomed three new officers to its ranks during a ceremony on Monday, Feb. 26. Additionally, Officer James Baker III was promoted to the rank of detective, after several retirements from the police force. New Wesport Officer Scott Aliberti, 42, was previously the director of dance at Sacred Heart University where he developed the school’s first and very successful dance program.
