State Trooper Injured After I-84 Crash In Danbury Causes Hours-Long Closure
A Connecticut State Police trooper was injured after an overnight crash that caused a three-hour closure on a stretch of I-84. It happened in Fairfield County just after 9 p.m. Friday, June 14, in Danbury. The 41-year-old trooper was inside her cruiser with the emergency lights activated at the scene of another accident on the shoulder on the westbound side between Exit 8 on and off ramps. 2 School Buses Crash In Newtown
Two people were injured when two school buses with students on board were involved in a crash in Fairfield County. The crash occurred in Newtown around 9:30 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 22 in the area of Boggs Hills Road and Sugar Street. According to Lt. Scott Smith of the Newtown Police, the two buses, owned by All-Star Transportation were on their way to Reed Intermediate School and had students on board for morning drop-off. After refusing to stop for officers, a Connecticut drunk driver's ride was finally cut short after authorities deployed a spike strip on a busy highway interchange in the Hudson Valley, police said. The incident happened in Putnam County on Friday, June 16 just after 11:30 p.m., when patrol officers saw a Jeep Commander commit a traffic infraction on Route 52 in Kent, according to Kent Police. Stamford Man With Active Warrant Charged After Passing School Bus In Darien, Police Say
A Stamford man has been charged after a traffic infraction in Darien led to the discovery of an active warrant, according to police. Darien Police say they observed a van pass a stopped school bus on Post Road near the intersection of Saltbox Lane on Monday, March 25 around 7:30 a.m. The officer initiated a traffic stop and identified the driver as 38-year-old Carlos Bonilla of Stamford, according to police.
