Greenwich Police Officer Dies Suddenly A Greenwich police officer died suddenly Tuesday, Dec. 17, during a medical emergency, the department said. Justin Quagliani, 38, died around 5 a.m., after suffering a medical emergency at his Greenwich residence while off-duty, said the Greenwich Police Department. A lifelong resident of Stamford, Smith died Sunday, June 30 in Norwalk at age 88. He was born in Stamford on July 31, 1930, one of two sons, to the late B. Frederick and Florence (Schaffer) Smith.  Smith attended Stamford public schools and graduated from Stamford High School.  Following in his father’s and brother’s footsteps, Smith went on to join the Stamford Fire Department and served as a career firefighter for 41 years before retiring in July of 1999.  Smith is survived by daughters, Kath…
