CT Lawmakers Move To Legalize Recreational Marijuana, With Prodding By Lamont Connecticut may see if the grass really is greener on the other side as lawmakers push to legalize recreational marijuana. This week, state lawmakers will return to the Capitol in Hartford for a special session to debate the merits of legalizing marijuana for adults over the age of 21. The Special Session begins on Wednesday, June 16. The bill had previously passed in the Senate with a 19-17 vote, though the Senate will have to revote now that it has gone into a special session.
