A man was arrested after allegedly shooting a security guard in the face with a pepper spray gun at a YMCA in Fairfield County.
Billy Pettway, of Bridgeport, was arrested around 11:30 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 3, at the State Street YMCA in Bridgeport.
According to Scott Appleby, director of Emergency Management for Bridgeport, officials originally were informed that the security guard was shot in the face with a BB gun, and police were immediately dispatched.

Man Calling Himself 'Lucifer' Arrested For Murder In Fairfield County Store, Police Say
A Fairfield County man who called himself Lucifer has been arrested for allegedly killing a man and then robbing him after he was dead.
Luis Morales, age 31, of Bridgeport was arrested late Thursday evening, Dec. 16, for the shooting death of 23-year-old Clinton Taylor, at a local store earlier in the night, said the Bridgeport Police.
According to Scott Appleby, director of Emergency Management for Bridgeport, the shooting took place around 9:15 p.m. at Sammy's Grocery & Dollar Store, at 500 Park Ave.
Taylor is the grandson of former Bridgeport city councilwoman Denese Taylor-Moye.

Fairfield County Man Found Shot To Death In Car, Police Say
Police are investigating after a man from the region was found shot to death on a city street.
Fairfield County resident Michael Harrigan, age 42, of Bridgeport, was discovered by police around 4:45 a.m., Sunday, Dec. 12, after receiving a call for an unresponsive man in a car.
According to Scott Appleby, director of Emergency Management for Bridgeport, police responded to 64 Black Rock Ave., where they found Harrigan dead inside the car from an apparent gunshot wound.
Police are conducting an ongoing investigation.

Fairfield County Man Wanted For Murder, Surrenders To Police
A Fairfield County man wanted in connection with the murder of his ex-girlfriend's boyfriend has surrendered to police.
Miguel Rojas, age 28, of Bridgeport, surrendered to police to face charges in connection to the Friday, Dec. 3 homicide of Jalen Parilla, said Scott Appleby, director of Emergency management for Bridgeport.
According to witnesses, Rojas, who has two children with his ex-girlfriend, shot Parilla, age 37, of Stratford.
After the shooting, Parilla was rushed to Saint Vincent's Hospital where he died a short time later.
