Danbury Man Assaults Officer With Vehicle During Pursuit In Newtown, Police Say A Newtown Police officer was injured earlier this month while attempting to apprehend a man in what began as a routine traffic stop. The incident unfolded on Sunday, Oct. 7, when Newtown officers attempted to stop John Paul Suero of Danbury for having license plates that did not match the vehicle, the department said in a press release.  While attempting to stop the vehicle, Suero took off with officers in pursuit.
