CT Man Killed After Vehicle Flips Over Railroad Tracks, Police Say A Connecticut man was killed after losing control of his vehicle and being ejected after hitting railroad tracks along Route 8, said Connecticut State Police. New Haven County resident Jonathan Vazquez, age 24, of Derby, was killed around 1 p.m., on Monday, Jan. 4, while traveling northbound on Route 8 near Beacon Falls, said state police. Train Service To Hamptons Suspended After Derailment, Lirr Says All Long Island Rail Road service to the Hamptons has been suspended after a Montauk train sideswiped a work train, derailing both, early Saturday morning, May 25. "Service is suspended east of Patchogue on the Montauk Branch after a train due in Montauk at 4:09 a.m. sideswiped a non-revenue train east of Speonk as part of a passing maneuver," the LIRR said in a statement.
