Four From Fairfield County Charged With DWI In NY Weekend Stops With local and state police agencies cracking down on drunk, drugged and distracted driving, several local residents were among nearly two dozen in the area who found themselves on the wrong side of the law over the weekend. Danbury Woman Nabbed For DWI In Putnam County The Putnam County Sheriff’s Department has been busy of late, busting a pair of motorists who were allegedly operating their vehicles under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Putnam County Sheriff Robert Langley, Jr. announced the arrests of 40-year-old Danbury resident Karla Gomes and 33-year-old Shrub Oak resident Peter Cancro, who were busted for driving under the influence by the department in the past week.
