State Police Investigate Shooting Death Of Man On Busy Fairfield County Roadway Connecticut State Police are investigating the shooting death of a man on Route 8 in Fairfield County. The incident took place around 3:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 15, when troopers assigned to Troop G-Bridgeport responded to the area of Route 8 northbound in the city of Bridgeport after receiving a 911 call regarding a shooting. Upon the arrival, a man was found suffering from a gunshot wound and was transported to an area hospital where he died. The identity of the victim is not being released at this time.
