Dog Rescued After House Fire Breaks Out In Fairfield County A dog was rescued and rushed to a veterinarian clinic after being rescued from a Fairfield County apartment fire. The fire took place in Norwalk around 7:50 p.m., Friday, Sept. 9, on France Street. The fire was located in a two-apartment unit at the rear of the property, said Edward McCabe, assistant chief operations for the Norwalk Fire Department.  Initial reports stated that all occupants were out of the building except for a dog on the first floor, McCabe said.
